Had the honour of speaking at DA Morrison Middle School’s very thoughtful and inclusive remembrance ceremony. A special thanks to Veterans Affairs Minister Seamus O’Regan for ensuring every school in our riding received a wreath this year. Original Facebook post.

Attended a beautiful ceremony this morning at Kew Gardens. After recently visiting the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, I came to realize the astounding number of Canadians who served in World War I and II, and gave their lives, bodies, and minds.
In World War I, 61,000 Canadians died, and another 172,00 were injured. Adjusted for today’s population, that equates to over 1 million Canadians.
Over 1.1 million Canadians served in World War II. Adjusted for today’s population, that would mean 3.5 million Canadians. Original Facebook post.
